Sydney Harbour is pretty spectacular, and its definitely worth taking a cruise around the islands. One of them is Cockatoo Island, and has a former convict prison and guardhouse as well as the docks where they used to build ships. It is just one of the islands worth seeing, and you can get a cruise that will take you around several.

There are lots of national parks near Sydney, so you can enjoy a day in the country without having to venture very far. If you go to Sydney Harbour National Park then you can enjoy looking back at the great skyline of Sydney. It is a really nice walk, and you can also visit Taronga Zoo here. Heathcote National Park is not far away and is also nice for walking.
